Busy Mom To My Three Men

I am a mom to three fantastic yet exhausting boys. Not a moment goes by that they say or do something that I say to myself I must remember to write that down. So, here I'll share their funny stories and my crazy life. I think I strive on chaos (thus explains my house most of the time.)

I am about to explode.

Tomorrow is Meet The Teacher Nite for Owen's school and boy do I have a mouthful for his teacher. Owen has been having difficulties with language arts and spelling. We knew this last year when his teacher, two months before school ended, told us he was reading at a level below the rest of the class. Yet, he didn't fall enough below to qualify for special help. Got to love that one. So now, two weeks into school his teacher, a brand-new first year teacher, has been sending home all his school papers to be fixed at home and returned to school in addition to his homework. I'm sorry but it is the school's job to educate my child and if he is obviously having a problem why the hell won't they get him the necessary help he needs. I'll tell you why. Because it is easier and cheaper for me to educate my child than for the school to hire another language arts and reading specialist. I was told last year that Owen didn't fall enough below the level to qualify for help and that they were full. I honestly feel like Owen just keeps slipping through the cracks and gets moved up to the next grade when he isn't ready at all.
So, I can't have a conference with his teacher tomorrow night because they strictly emphasize that Meet The Teacher's Nite is not a time to discuss your child with the teacher and regular conferences aren't scheduled until November so it looks like I will need to make some special arrangements to meet with her and discuss the situation. Hopefully, I can calm down a bit more before I do.
Oh, and I forgot to mention this, she sent home a paper where he got two answers wrong and used her nifty brand-new "parent signature required stamp" on it. Give me a break-does she honestly think I am not aware of my kid's problem that I need to sign a paper and return it? She is the one who seems like she isn't aware to the problem or maybe she is aware and just chooses to ignore it.
