Life Changes....Again.
Well, the two older boys are officially done for the summer! Both did very well on their report cards so we have one very proud Mommy here. However, I still need to hunt down Ty's gym teacher and giver her a strict talking too. Ty went from a B to a B+ this marking period and it was his only 'B' on his whole report card. I know, a 'B' is good but in gym, come on! We used to get an 'A' just for showing up.
The boys had their first day at home with Ms Jessica sitting all day. She'll do this twice a week for now until August. Andrew loved having his "My Miss Jessica" there and was looking forward to her coming all weekend. I left the older boys workbook pages to do as well write in their journals. Owen has one where he draws a picture and writes about it and I bought Tyler a creative writing computer program where he can keep a journal and add clipart images. He really likes it and I can see he takes after his mom in the creativity department. The boys went through slight withdrawal because Ms Jessica only allowed them an hour of TV the whole day and she wouldn't let them veg' out infront of the gamecube either. (Did I forget to mention that I love this girl?) I just wish the weather would get nicer so they could go out an play. She also worked on Owen's reading with him.
Ty and Owen start summer school classes today. They'll go three days a week for 3 hours a day. Tyler is taking piano/keyboarding and baking..again. By the end of July they should be able to play one classical and one modern piece. He can't wait to get his hands on Grandma and Pop Pop's baby grand at the lakehouse and play something for them. This is his second time taking baking and he is excited to finally have another boy in class with him. He was a little outnumbered by girls. I am sure that in a few years he wouldn't mind this at all but for now he isn't really interested. Owen is taking a Splash into second grade course which focuses on math, reading and science in a fun way. This will keep his skills refreshed throughout the summer so he doesn't become a little zombie. Andrew will be going to daycare on these days and isn't too pleased about it.
So, I asked Jessica if she would be interested in babysitting come September for Andrew during the day. She is going to college and is going to bring me her schedule on Friday and we are going to see what we could do. She would probably cost more than daycare but Andrew will be getting one on one attention and if the boys have a day off from school for something she'll be there to watch them and at no additional charge. It is the same cost whether it is one child or three children. Luckily, since I work for mom and dad I can kind of make my own hours. So, my goal is to try to go back to work full-time if schedules allow. I don't know how I am going to do it all yet but I'm sure we'll work something out. It may be a bit more stressful now with being the president of the Newcomers/Neighbors club this upcoming year and co-chairing the club's craft show so I am going to have to learn how to schedule time at home to work on these things. I still need to figure how to work in running the kids to religion classes and acting classes into my work schedule though. UUUUUGGHHH.
So, that is it-another life change coming my way. Even I am beginning to confuse myself.
