Busy Mom To My Three Men

I am a mom to three fantastic yet exhausting boys. Not a moment goes by that they say or do something that I say to myself I must remember to write that down. So, here I'll share their funny stories and my crazy life. I think I strive on chaos (thus explains my house most of the time.)

Random Wednesday Thoughts

1. The boys have a half day today and tomorrow. Though, when I was a kid, a half day meant you came home at lunchtime not 1:50 and called it a half day. If they are going to call it a half day then it should be half day and get out at 11:30. They should call it early dismissal if they are going to dismiss at 1:50. Jeeez.
2. I have to go to a highschool graduation party tonight for Jeff's cousin in NY. So it is going to take me an houror so to get there. The party starts at 8:00 PM so you can guess what time I am going to end up getting home. Lucky me. On top of that I have to pay a babysitter to watch the boys too. I had originally asked my mom (FREE BABYSITTING!) but then got Jess because I knew it was going to end up being a late night. Just hate the idea of spening this much money to go to a graduation party of a cousin of Jeffs who he isn't very close to and everytime we invite them to a family function they can't even be courteous enough to RSVP.
3. Really needed a Dunkin Donut coffee this morning and it tastes nasty. I think they put too much sugar in it. I know, who would've thought I would be one to complain about too much sugar. LOL
4. Love, love, love my Supper Super meals (www.ssorangect.com) ! So far I have had the pork chops, Asian flank steak, salmon with pesto steaks and mashed potato casserole. Super easy and super delic'. I have already booked a session for next month to stock the freezer again.
5. Daycare! I am so unhappy with Andrew's dayacre right now. What I initially liked about the daycare was that they had young highschool or college girls that were fabulous with the kids. They always seemed to give the kids the little bit of extra attention that they may need. Well, all the girls left and they are short staffed now and the head teacher's patience is wearing very thin and now Andrew cries every morning when we drop him off and it breaks my heart. I picked him up the other day and seriously wonder if they even noticed that I took him. Don't get me wrong usually this is a fabulous daycare (the other two boys went through the program here) and I think the owner is just trying to make it through this next week with the staff she has and then knows that attendance will drop for the summer. I just feel good that I bumped him down to part-time and have Jess watching him the two other days. This way he'll still get his Ms Jessica time.
6. I had Owen evaluated by a teacher in another town who is a friend of my mils. She has been teaching 1st grade for 30 years and does reading assessments for kindergarten and 2nd grade as well. I was concerned that Owen was only reading at a level of 10 but she evaluated him at a 14 and said she wouldn't keep him back at all. She said he is very bright but she does sense a slight learning disability. Not anything to be overly concerned about. She said that Owen is very visual and his problem comes from what he visual sees in his head and getting down onto the paper. She said he will just have to learn what way of learning works best for him. Her and I are going to a teacher store on Friday and she is going to point out some stuff that I could use to help him.
7. On a completely opposite note, Tyler was nominated for the TAG program (talented and gifted) finally! It only took them how many years to see that he is completely bored in class? Well, before they could accept the kids they had to administer a sages test. Tyler took the test with about 12 other 3rd graders. He said there were 50 questions and 2 that he had a problem with that he couldn't even work backwards from the answers to figure it out. Well, my lovely town approved a budget cut last week and it looks like one of the things to go is the TAG program!!! I am furious. I just want Tyler to be proud of his work for once. I want him to be challenged so when he does complete something that was slightly difficult he'll be proud of himself and his work.
8. I am venturing out on yet another job venture. I a becoming a Tastefully Simple consultant (www.tastefullysimple.com) . I love these products and figure that since I buy so much of them I may as well get a discount. Also, everytime I order something people tell me that they need to reorder a few things too. I am not going to do home parties yet it is nice that there is a reorder need to this where as how many plastic bowls does everyone really need?
Well, I guess this is enough random thoughts for now. Have a great day!
