Busy Mom To My Three Men

I am a mom to three fantastic yet exhausting boys. Not a moment goes by that they say or do something that I say to myself I must remember to write that down. So, here I'll share their funny stories and my crazy life. I think I strive on chaos (thus explains my house most of the time.)

Man, I love football!!

No, I'm not talking about professional football, I am talking about good ole' kids' flag football. Yesterday was Owen's flag football tournament. They won the tournament last year cause they had a really good team but unfortunately they lost a lot of their players this year to moving up to the next age bracket. So this year's team had the same coaches and a lot of new players. Their record for the year was 7 wins 3 losses but they were kind of looked at as the underdogs because of having a lot of new players on their "b" team. The team that had the best record all season beat us twice during the season and they wanted to play us because they "knew" they could beat us. They had a bye out of the first round of games on Sunday so they automatically made it to the second round. Owen's team won their first game and then had a break while 4 other teams played. They then played the winner of one of those games and won. Which then put them into the finals against the team that wanted to play us because we would be easy to beat. Well, our kids were fired up and ready to play. What a game. I really think I am going to have no voice left today but it was amazing and these kids gave it their all. They were looked at as the underdogs and if you have ever seen the movie "Rudy" that is what we all felt like. They tied the game and time ran out with us on our 4 yd line (which stunk) so we had to go into overtime. Basically what they do is put the kids on the twenty yard line and they get 4 tries to score and then the other team gets their try. We would hold them, they would hold us. We would score, they would score. We would hold them, they would hold us. Finally after three overtimes the refs called it and declared it a tie. The stinky thing was they only had one trophy and they gave it to the other team because they had an overall better record for the season but they told us they would buy a second trophy for our team. Our kids felt kind of bad like they came in "second" and the other team allowed us to "borrow their trophy" for a picture. Poo poo on them. Our kids were so good and never gave up. We were so proud of them. Now, I have to wait another 8 months before we start up again.:(
Here's a pic of our winners. Owen is in the middle by the trophy-you can kind of see his red hair in there.
