Random Thoughts Wednesday
I have decided to declare Wedneday on my blog...Random Thought Day!! Lord knows I have plenty of them.
1.) I got to thinking this morning that I am weird when it comes to little things that make me happy. I guess maybe...just maybe, I 'm not as high-maintenance as everone seems to think I am. So you lucky folks get to see just how crazy I am.
My new black sandals...I bought these for Easter and have recently named them my "happy shoes". There is just something about them that make me happy. Just the thoughts of sandals make me happy, but these make me super happy. So, here is,for your approva, exhibit A-my happy shoes.

Another strangely odd thing that makes me happy is this cute little angel pin that my mil got me for Christmas. Okay, first you must realize that just the idea that she bought me something useful makes me happy. She usually buys my sils and myself all the same type of seater or sweatershirt. This wouldn't be a problem if I was a size small like my sils but she buys me a lg/xlg that still doesn't fit and makesme feel like crap. But that's another blog. This pin is called a Mommy Do pin and I don't really wear pins so I decided to stick it through a piece of velcro and stick the velcro to my monitor here at work so I can see it all the time and enjoy it. It's girly, pink, polka-dotted-so I like it and it makes me smile. Here's exhibit B, my Mommy Do pin.

The last two things that make me happy are clean kitchen counters and a brand new box of Crayola markers. There is just something about being able to grab a marker and coloring with it and this bright vibrant color appearing on the paper. It sure beats to heck a dried up marker that barely works at all. And as for clean kitchen counters, come on...who doesnn't love clean kitchen counters?!?!
2. So, now that I have shared my random list of crazy happy things, I have to share a cute pic I took this morning. Every Wednesday in Owen's first grade class is his day to share something. Yes, this has made me nervous at times because I have to wonder just what my child is deciding to share with his class. NO phone calls home from the teacher or principal so I guess we are safe so far. Last fall, Owen played flag football and LOVED it. Was there any doubt that my powerhouse would love football. He played as a 6 year old in the 6-8 year old league. His team went undefeated all year and was allowed to go to a tournament in Wallingford, CT. Well they ended up winning the tournament and the coach got a pretty big trophy that he decided he would allow the kids to take turns being its host family. Well, we got a phone call a week ago that it was Owen's turn. We had completely forgotten about it. He was so proud of his trophy and wanted to bring it to share on his share day. There was no way I was going to allow him to bring this to school. One, it is too big and two, it still has some families it has to go and visit (all in one piece hopefully.) So, we compromised and I told him I would take a picture of him with the trophy and he could bring the picture for share day. So, here's the picture he is sharing. My little football player...

That's a great picture of Owen. And how cool the coach shared the trophy with the whole team. Like the sandals too. I need to get new ones for this summer.
Random thoughts rock ;)
great pic of Owen (and the ones yesterday too!) Love that pin...it's so fun! I like sandals, but only if all my toes don't show... yeah, I'm weird.
Those are cute sandals, Amy! And the pin is nice, good job mil :) Like the compromise on the trophy.
